This is my first time owning a cat and i wanted to travel with it so i did all the necessary requirements that i was informed about (ex: vaccines) by the airlines. Everything went well and i even booked business class in order to make my cat comfortable only for the flight attendants to threaten me and tell me that the carriage for my bag was too stiff and it needed to be soft (i wasn’t informed about this) the reason for this is so incase of a crash u would have space BUT as i said before i was in business the space was huge and the seats were empty so that doesn’t make sense. They gave me two choices either the cat gets off the plane or he is sent with the cargo. At first i was hesitant but they said that they would place a seatbelt and regulate the temperature for the cat so i was reassured. The whole flight was pumpy so i was worried. When i gave them the cat they told me they would bring it to the aircraft the moment it lands but then they changed their claims and told me that i need to get it myself. I went there waited for hours only to find that they DIDNT put a seatbelt my cat was getting hit by the baggage and the carriage it was in even broke so when they opened the aircraft the cat ran away and no one bothered to follow it. The cat is only 7 moths old and is a typical home cat who can’t survive in the wild. The lack of professionalism and the way they treated the cat makes me think they see it as simply just and animal but to me it is a precious family member. It hasn’t been found yet and i don’t know what to do. 14 has alr passed and it still haven’t been found! This was on plane IST-TK 0109/02 from medinah to istanbul on 2/7/2022.

The post Turkish airlines lost my cat. first appeared on https://air-traffic-control.com/travels.

Hi everyone, thought maybe someone could help me figure out a plan of action for my flight that’s in 5 hours or so:

I’m flying back home to the United States from Romania, via Qatar Airways. Leg #1 is from Bucharest to Doha, and leg #2 is from Doha to NY. Leg 1 is fine, but I just got an email that leg #2 is delayed from 1 AM to 11 AM!

Here’s the other thing: leg #2 is an American Airlines flight IN COLLABORATION with Qatar Airways. Apparently, there is some partnership with those companies. So I’m not sure how/whether that changes anything.

What should I do? I’ve never had a flight delayed before, let alone for 10 hours:

Should I request a different flight at the airport?

Should I proceed with the flight and try to get some compensation for a hotel room/food and just do the 11 AM flight? I’m not sure if they will compensate me since technically 1 AM to 11 AM is the same day (ridiculous, I know), so they may not consider it a “day delay.”

Will I still need to check-in at the original 1 AM time? Seems ridiculous that I’ll have to check in and then figure out a way to remain for 10 hours after that – can I sleep or will there be a chance the flight gets un-delayed and leaves me stranded?

If anyone has any tips/experience, I would please love to know! Unfortunately, the delay isn’t in the section of the trip departing from the EU, so I won’t be eligible for the 600 Euro thing.

I’m flying to Hawaii from the states. My trip is going to be 6-7 days. If I come back on the 6th day I’ll have the next day off to rest before I have to go back to work. But if I come back on the 7th day,I save $120 on the flight. That may not seem significant but I just spent a extra $700 on a unseen expense so it takes away from my flight money. This is also my birthday trip and my first time outside “the states” technically even though Hawaii is still the USA. I’m excited but I know I’m going to spend a long time on the plane.

TLDR; Should I book the cheaper flight for the coming back the day before work? I would land at 11pm & go to work at 8am the next day.

The more expensive flight gives me a day to rest before I return to work.

I’m trying to decide what’s more important. Sleep/rest or money lol

The post Should I book the cheaper flight or give myself a day to rest? first appeared on https://air-traffic-control.com/travels.

Once arriving in Dallas, will any of the steps or processes be different than if I were to just fly internationally straight from Dallas without the connecting flight? Will I need to check in again? Will I need to collect my luggage and check it again? When will they check my passport? Just wondering if anything will be different since I have a connecting flight first.
Hello, today I experienced something very strange. I have tickets through Expedia flying from the US to Belgrade Serbia flying Lufthansa. This morning I received a email from Lufthansa saying the last leg of my flight has been canceled. So I get on the phone and call Expedia, only for them to tell me that the flight is not canceled and to call Lufthansa to figure this out as my tickets are still good. Me, thinking that this is some third party fuckery and mentally preparing myself to be told to recall Expedia to tell them they are full of shit call Lufthansa. I explain the situation and give them my code for them to check my flights…. Only for the lady at the airline to tell me my flights have not been canceled and that me being sent a email saying that the last leg was canceled must be “some kind of mistake”. 🤨🤨

I still have the the email saying it’s canceled. Also, on the Lufthansa app, it says the last leg of my trip has been canceled on the app, yet I have been told by the airline themselves that it was a mistake and my tickets/the flight is still good. People of reddit, have any of y’all experienced something like this ever? Or should I mentally prepare for the mental anal fucking that might happen to my asshole if it turns out my flight actually is canceled and I need to reroute it?

Flight number- Lufthansa 1410 from Frankfurt to Belgrade

On the Emirates website, I saw two different information regarding my carry on allowance. For the first, I saw that the maximum dimensions are 55 x 38 x 20 cm. On another, I saw “Please note that rolling bags with built-in wheels and retractable handles will be permitted as cabin baggage only if the total dimensions (length + width + height) add up to less than 114 cm (45 inches). The larger, overnight models of this type of bag will not be permitted in the cabin.”

Mine’s a the hard shell kind of bag with wheels and a handle, and its dimensions according to the manufacturer’s site is 55x35x25. I also measured it myself—it was around 55x34x23. Is Emirates super strict with the size? My width is around 3-5 cm bigger than their limit. Will this be ok?

The post emirates cabin luggage size? first appeared on https://air-traffic-control.com/travels.

I reported the bags at the airport but the number/code they gave me is not in the system so far so it does not really help. For Egypt, you have to check everyday if the bags made it or not. In the meantime, I need clothes, on their website they have a refund policy for things you buy if your bags are delayed. Now my question is has anyone done this, will they actually pay? Or should I just buy things assuming its not being refunded?

The post My bags are delayed from Lufthansa first appeared on https://air-traffic-control.com/travels.

Most of us know about the absolute insanity happening with multiple airlines right now…. in my case, I had a layover in Paris (CDG) on my way back to JFK from Rome last Friday and my bags never made it to JFK. Flew AirFrance. I was given the typical spiel, filed a claim, filled out an inventory form, etc etc. Been impossible to get in contact with any real human beings. My question for anyone who might know, will I ever be seeing my luggage again? I don’t mind waiting weeks if I have to, but I have things in that bag that are irreplaceable and I really need to have them back eventually. (I am learning the hard way that it was stupid of me to put them in a checked bag). Part of me feels like since they’ve done this to so many people that that’s a good thing, since they surely can’t lose everyone’s luggage, but another part of me feels like the number of people experiencing this right now is going to make the likelihood of them finding my bag nearly nonexistent. Does anyone have some firsthand insight into this issue?

The post Baggage fiasco first appeared on https://air-traffic-control.com/travels.
